See Christmas Lights on Your House — AI Preview

Start with your own home and a look you can picture living with. AI Christmas Lights will turn one daytime house or room photo into a decorated evening preview. AI rendering opens November 12, 2026 in free mode.
Plan your house lightsTry the free light designer →AI rendering opens Nov 12, 2026
AI rendering opens in free mode. You will upload a photo with your consent, pick a holiday style, and compare your original photo with the AI preview using a before/after slider. The free local light designer is available now.
A little planning before the first strand
A roofline can feel festive with one clear line of warm light. A porch may need only a wreath and a few path lights. Use a preview to decide where the eye should land, rather than filling every surface at once. The goal is a useful conversation about color, placement and balance before you buy decorations.
This first phase includes a free manual designer that lets you sketch lights locally without an upload. It does not create accounts, render AI images or take payments. The AI option will be a separate, consent-based step.
Six outdoor directions
Warm white classic follows roof edges, gables, windows and the door with C9-style points of light. It is a useful starting point for brick, stone or siding because the outline stays easy to read. On a ranch house, emphasize the long eaves; on a taller facade, repeat the same color around a few windows to connect the floors.
Multicolor retro gives a simple roofline a playful rhythm. Leave some surfaces unlit so the colors remain distinct. Icicle lights create a softer fringe along eaves; choose warm or cool white deliberately and keep the rest of the scheme restrained. A preview can help you see whether a deep porch hides the fringe from the street.
Roofline and trees extends attention into the garden with wrapped trunks and shrubs. Keep some dark space between the house and trees. Candy cane lane draws attention toward the entrance with path accents and a door wreath; leave the actual walking surface clear. Elegant wreaths uses minimal warm white, window wreaths with red bows and porch garland, a good direction when architectural symmetry is the main feature.
Three indoor starting points
Indoor tree places a decorated tree in visible open floor space with warm lights and a few gifts. Show both the floor and ceiling in the photo so the proposed scale is easier to judge. A slim tree can suit a narrow apartment corner; classic red and gold can anchor a larger living room.
Garland mantel concentrates decoration on a mantel or shelf, with stockings and an LED candle look. Cozy full adds a tree, window lights, garland and seasonal pillows. For a small room, compare the quieter option first. Keep heaters, fireplaces, exits and everyday routes clear in the real arrangement, even if a generated picture suggests otherwise.
Take a photo that answers your question
Photograph the whole roofline in daylight from a stable, straight-on position. Include the porch and enough ground to show where path lighting would go. Avoid a very wide lens if it bends the edges of the building. Move cars out of frame where practical and wait until there are no people in view.
For a room, stand far enough back to show the intended tree corner and adjacent furniture. Remove private documents and family photos from the frame. Use a photo of your own property or get permission first. A clear image supports a more useful comparison, but it cannot turn an AI image into a measurement or an electrical plan.
Sketch first, then refine
The free designer lets you draw lines along eaves, compare bulb colors and estimate strands without an account. Mini lights suit fine detail, larger C9-style bulbs make an outline more visible, icicles hang below the edge, and net lights distribute points across shrubs. Those are visual choices; actual product dimensions and permitted connections vary.
For a simple estimate, divide measured illuminated length by usable strand length and round up. A 68-foot run with 25-foot usable strands needs three strands by length alone. Connections, unlit leads, corners and manufacturer limits still need a separate check. Do not measure a roof by scaling an AI picture.
A preview budget you can follow
At launch, Standard will use 10 credits, HD 20 and Print 40. Signup will include 30 credits, enough for three Standard previews or one HD and one Standard. Guest free renders may be limited. The manual designer is unlimited.
Credit packs are coming soon: $4.99 for 250, $9.99 for 600 and $19.99 for 1,500 credits. Credits never expire. Compare a restrained and a fuller style before spending more on higher resolution; a larger file does not guarantee accurate architecture, bulb counts or buildable placement.
How it works at launch
Prepare one photo
Use a daytime, straight-on view of your own house or a room you have permission to photograph. Keep people out and hide house numbers and plates.
Choose a direction
Plan a roofline in the free designer, or choose an AI preset when rendering opens November 12, 2026. Start with one focal area before adding more decoration.
Compare and plan
When AI rendering opens, compare the original with the preview and download your chosen look. Measure the real space and check product instructions before buying or installing anything.
Planned price per AI render: Standard 10 credits · HD 20 · Print 40. About $0.13–$0.20 per Standard render when a planned pack is used entirely at Standard quality. Packs coming soon.
An AI preview of the look, not a blueprint. Small details (gutters, railings, light counts) can differ from your real house.
Before and after examples
These samples were created with AI image models to show the kind of preview the AI render will produce. Results on your photo will differ.

Frequently asked questions
Can I generate an AI preview now?
AI rendering opens November 12, 2026 in free mode. This first phase contains planning guides; uploads, accounts and checkout are not available yet.
What will be free?
The client-side designer is unlimited and requires no signup. At AI launch, signup will include 30 credits. Guest free renders may be limited by availability and abuse controls.
How accurate will the image be?
An AI preview of the look, not a blueprint. Small details (gutters, railings, light counts) can differ from your real house.
How will photo privacy work?
The AI flow will remove EXIF/GPS before upload and provide a house-number and plate blur tool. Uploads will be deleted within 24 hours; outputs will be kept for 30 days or until you delete them.
Can I use a preview commercially?
Personal and commercial use of your own outputs will be allowed, provided you have rights to the photo. Label listing images “virtually decorated” and never present a proposed installation as completed work.
What will an AI render cost?
Standard will cost 10 credits, HD 20 and Print 40. Planned packs start at $4.99 for 250 credits, about $0.20 per Standard render if the whole pack is used at that quality. Payments are coming soon.
